Wall Notes

My Studio walls are lined with plastic sheeting. The sheeting means I can ‘decorate’ with abandon while I’m painting.

I can change the plastic and have a clean wall when when what is on the wall becomes too distracting, when I start a new series, or just want clean white thinking space.

The wall notes can be cryptic shorthand or longer for ideas that occur while I’m working. Notes can be extracts from books, instructions or plans for the next studio period.

Visitors are often attracted to what is written on the walls; so in 2006 I exhibited sections along with finished paintings.
